Mrs. Ruchi Singh is currently an Assistant Professor (Sr.) at Patna Law College, Patna University. She had joined Patna University as an Assistant Professor at the Post Graduate Department of Law, in September 2018 and has a work experience of 8 years in the field of law having previously served as an Assistant Professor at Tamil Nadu National Law University from April 2016 to September 2018 and as a Law Associate at the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal in 2015-16. 

Her academic achievements include securing the top rank in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) recruitment for Assistant Professors of Law in 2018 and qualifying the UGC-NET examination in December 2013. She has also received recognition for her teaching abilities, earning the highest attainable outstanding grade as a Teaching Assistant at NALSAR University of Law in 2014.

Mrs. Singh’s contributions to legal academia extend beyond the classroom as her responsibilities have encompassed designing syllabi, coordinating workshops, and preparing reading materials for various National and International Conferences to train judges of District and Higher Judiciary at the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal. 

She has authored various articles on topics such as rape laws in India, labour laws, gender parity in corporate boards, and more, which have been published in esteemed UGC Care Listed journals as well as International Journals such as ILI Law Review, Rostrum’s Law Review, Company Cases, International Journal of Advance Research etc. 

Mrs. Singh has presented a series of impactful papers at prestigious national and international conferences, shedding light on critical issues within the legal landscape. Noteworthy among her presentations include her paper selected for Presentation by National Labour Law Association and ISLSSL, Geneva, The University of Philippines Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Nalanda University and Chanakya National Law University, Patna among others. 

Her areas of interest include labour laws, law and literature, women and criminal laws, gender justice and criminal justice administration. She has been invited to various prestigious events and institutions to share her expertise and insights on legal matters. 

As a resource person, Mrs. Singh has conducted training programs and delivered lectures on diverse topics related to law and justice. Her engagements include serving as a panelist at the ‘NCW Sponsored Eastern Region Law Review Consultation on Rights of Women under Property Laws’ at the National Law University Odisha, Ministry of Labour and Employment (Government of India), V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, and National Law University Delhi at National Law University Delhi, as well as conducting sessions on the ‘Law Relating to Protection of Women’ for elected women representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Municipal Corporations of Bihar, sponsored by the National Commission for Women, New Delhi. Moreover, she has been instrumental in training senior-level police officers at Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir, Administrative officers of the State Government at BIPARD, section officers of Secretariate, Patna and has contributed by framing questions for departmental examinations to be held for officers of the Bihar Public Service Commission etc.
